ABOUT THE HERBS
NETTLE - Urtica Dioica - grown organically and regeneratively at Oshala Farms in Southern Oregon. Nettle is a POWERFUL plant, and I put it in all caps for a reason - this is Food as Medicine. She is one of the most nutrient rich plants in the western world, known for being rich in minerals like Iron, Chlorophyll, Potassium, Vitamin C, Calcium, Flavanoids, Silica, and so much more. Nettle is not only a source of food for our cells, but is also a diuretic with a strong affinity for cleansing the blood, the lymphatics, and tissues from excess metabolic waste. Basically removing “the gunk” in your system while helping to open up your channels of elimination, providing a cleansing while also mineralizing. Trust us when we say your skin will love this tea!
LEMONBALM - Melissa Officinalis - grown organically in Kayla’s garden, a staple in her daily life as Lemon balm has proven to be a grounding force for the Nervous System. This gentle plant offers a special medicine as her tea can soothe your nerves and calm excess thinking, but without sedating. Her sweetness uplifts the spirits offering a harmonizing of the body and mind- this herb was a must in this blend and compliments the taste of Mint so beautifully.
CHOCOLATE MINT- Mentha xPiperaita - Grown organically in Kayla’s garden and a source of abundance year round! This variety of mint is a blend of spearmint and peppermint, offering a unique aroma of chocolate and mint. This plant can easily be overlooked as just a “mint” but her powers live in the digestive tract helping to alleviate bloating and indigestion, while also clearing respiratory system and modulating inflammation. We love to work with mints when there is excess heat or “moodiness” to cool and calm and draw the vital force inward to the gut intuition. Delicious- yes, but also medicinal!
