Welcome My Love!
If you're here, then you've probably heard about Gua Sha or have seen videos on social media of people performing Gua Sha, but you might not be sure What Gua Sha is, How to use the stone correctly or maybe you want to deepen your practice and get some questions answered. First things first,
What is Gua Sha?
Gua Sha is an ancient ritual based in Asia that is designed to gently move and scrape stagnation from the skin using a flat stone or crystal. It is also performed to help tonify and define muscles, release tensions, and encourage product penetration into the skin.
Most importantly, Gua Sha is super gentle, but extremely effective at moving stagnation caused from Lymphatic accumulation which holds toxic metabolic waste products.
Lymphatic stagnation in the face can look like: Swelling around the forehead, nose, mouth, jawline and cheekbones, Dark Circles, Puffy eyes, Uneven skintone, Blemishes especially around jawline and ears, Blackheads, Pale skin tone/lack of blood flow, wrinkles and fine lines, uneven skin texture around eyebrows, loss of tone in cheeks, or extended of muscles from facial expressions due to stress, etc. As you can see, there are many signs of lymphatic stagnation around the face.
Gua Sha is a beautiful practice to help move this fluid and create ~Flow~ and Who doesn't want to embody more flow in their life?
This ritual is perfect for anyone who wishes to holistically release stress and tension from their face and invite in more peace.
